CCT Gives Back

For our 2009 holiday production of A Christmas Carol, CCT donated a portion of our ticket sales to three local foodbanks. Because of record attendance at the show (including 3 SOLD OUT performances), our patrons helped us far exceed what we had hoped to accomplish.

We were able to donate a total of $2100 in addition to cases of food that were donated at each of the performances. Our board president, Brian Pattinson was joyfully busy handing out $700 checks to Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Hopelink and the Snoqualmie Tribe. All the donations will go to help people in the Snoqualmie Valley including Carnation, Duvall, Fall City and Preston.

The foodbanks have seen dramatic increases in those needing help under the grip of our troubled economy. In 2008 Holy Innocents helped 40 to 50 families, in 2009 that number jumped to 80, likewise the Snoqualmie Tribe has seen their numbers jump from 80 families per week to 250. Hopelink is serving 180 families per month which is another steep increase.
